OBME PRESS RELEASE

Together is easier! ASPOR co-operation 2007 Hungarian OBME delegation has visited recently ASPOR in Transylvania. The target of the visit was to get to know each others, how to organize the systematic osteoporosis screening, how to emphasize the importance of the prevention, how to get the adequate nutrition, how to operate the patient club life and the special physical exercises, gymnastics.  The Hungarian OBME delegation, leaded by Ms Klara Zalatnai president has visited three well functioning Osteo patient clubs in Transylvania. At Tirgu Mures is the ASPOR headquarter in Romania, where Dr. Ildiko Gasparik ASPOR president has informed us among others that since 1998 they ASPOR has app. 1300 members from about 20 countryside sections. They redact and print publication for the general public, this summer the ASPOR Osteo Info has reached the 23rd issue. They also have realized the importance of the moving, that is why more professional gymnast expert teach osteoporosis physical exercises. -It is not enough to say to the patient, Go on! Make exercises! It sounds, as if we would say, take medicine….No ones knows which drug and for what?– said Mr Naphegyi Hunor István leading therapeutic gymnast expert of Rheum Care Foundation at Tirgu Mures,  - our responsibility to teach or patients, Osteo club member on the everyday exercises. Than we, altogether the Romanian and Hungarian club members have the opportunity to take part at  an excellent common medical-moving exercise. Rheum Care has gained the title of the most active civil organization in Transylvania. They have the famous and successful Backbone School as well The OBME delegation has visited at Szováta another Osteo – patient club. Here the club leader was Ms Baczoni Szilárdka Kata, a Lutheran pastor woman, a fantastic energetic personality. The Szováta Osteo club assemblies are always organized at the congregation room of the old reformer church. The club members are listening in every month’s medical presentations at different themes. The Osteo patient club tries to help their poor club members by donated calcium tablets, which are mostly coming from Switzerland. At Szováta we have had an invitation by the Hungarian Danubius Health Spa, where about 20 ladies, coming from the two country could have execute a great common water medical gymnastic. On the third day the OBME delegation has visited a small picturesque village, Zetelaka, at the bottom of the Hargita Mountain. Here Dr Ilona Antal Kolumban private M.D. was the Osteo Club leader. She has explained how difficult it was, to establish in the village the Osteoporosis Patient Club. For today the club is already well operating with 78 stabile members, their sister city in Hungary is the Tatabanya and from now on – as a result of a new fellowship - Eger city too. At Zetelaka there is a regular Osteo screening minimum twice a year and not only for the population of the village, but for the patients of the surrounding areas. The women are collecting herbs for sale, and from the revenue they can pay in common the therapeutic gymnast expert. Recently they have celebrated their 5 years anniversary; during the party they have served many calcium-rich foods for the healthy bones. Ms Klara Zalatnai Hungarian OBME president overall has emphasized the importance of the right nutrition and the systematic daily moving. We were glad that during our stay we could visit more Osteo clubs in Romania, where we have changed our general knowledge of bone health and the right way of prevention, nutrition. Unfortunately the osteoporosis is worldwide a very serious illness, special common amongst women. We are working on a professional Anti Ageing program too, for our club members, with life style guidance, sport and excursion programs, and Tai Chi – she said. This year the feature theme will be in Hungary ‘Beat the Break: Know and reduce your osteoporosis risks’. We believe that the change of our experiences and information on osteoporosis and osteoporosis treatment, plus background on osteoporosis symptoms, prevention and risk factors for osteoporosis was very useful.   Our plan for the next year: common cooking race action with OBME - ASPOR, possibly at Zetelaka. The deal is COOKING, Reform foods vs. Traditional Transylvanian food. Leading part is the calcium. Every team from Hungary and Romania should prepare calcium-rich foods only.We are looking for a good INTERNATIONAL JURY!!!       Nemeth KatiPress Chef of OBME                                                                                                                                               +36-20-938-6844 E-mail This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it
