One week before the official day, on the 13th of Octobre, ASPOR started the series of the planned actions, at Baile Felix, Hotel Termal, in order to raise the attention of the public opinion in the country, of the mass-media and the staff of the medical field on the World Osteoporosis Day from this year: the healthy nutrition and osteoporosis.
The medical symposium intitled „Fight against osteoporosis – balance between lifestyle and medication”, was the debate point of the importance of a healthy lifestyle and diet in preventing and successfully treating osteoporosis. Among the invitees, was the well-known Romanian professor, Dr. Horatiu Bolosiu. We hope that our messages reached and had an impact on our target: the participants to the symposium, the GPs. In the evening, a practical demonstration of healthy food followed, at the restaurant of the Termal hotel. A bone-friendly food contest took place. The participants were ASPOR members from Oradea, Baile Felix, Beius, Timisoara and Targu Mures, but also chefs from more restaurants from Oradea and Baile Felix. The jury got to action, and in the end, the winners were numerous. Immediately after, everibody present at the soiree tasted and delighted in the diversity of foods and flavoures (traditional and modern, sweet and salted), willing to double-check the jury`s decisions (see pictures). We had altogether with us local and national VIPs, such as: Radu Tirlea - senator, Szekely Ervin - Secretary of the Romanian Health Ministry, Mihai Grozea - vice-maire of Oradea, Rittl Ladislau – director of the Public Health Department, Bihor, and last but not least , Dr. Zoia Bitea, representative of the Public Health Authority from Bihor, the most feared mebmer of the jury, to whom we want to express our thanks for her dedication.Among the participants were also ASPOR members and friends.The success of the event is greatly due to the open-mindeness and understanding of the S.C Turism Baile Felix and its general director Mr. Florian Serac. It would have been impossible to organize this day, if it weren`t for our sponsors, and also my colleagues from the rehabilitation hospital and from SC Turism Baile Felix... Without ASPOR, nothing would have taken place.
